Questions about the module

What is a GHG emissions inventory?

It is an account of an organization's greenhouse gas emissions over a period, usually one year, organized into Scopes 1, 2 and 3. It is the basis for reports such as CDP and GRI 305, and for setting reduction targets.

What is the difference between Scopes 1, 2 and 3?

Scope 1 covers direct emissions from company-owned sources, such as fleet and boilers. Scope 2 covers emissions from purchased electricity and heat. Scope 3 includes all other indirect emissions in the value chain, such as purchased goods, transportation, travel and the use of sold products.

Does Climoo follow the GHG Protocol?

Yes. The platform calculates the inventory according to the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-1, and also produces the report in the format of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program's Public Emissions Registry.

Can the inventory go through external verification?

Yes. Every data point has an owner, evidence, change history and a recorded approval, and evidence can be downloaded in bulk. The workflow was designed to meet the reasonable assurance level.

Do I have to drop spreadsheets to get started?
